[mythtv-users] Coming back to Myth : a few questions

Thanks for all the advice, it's appreciated.
To respond to a coupld of points:

- Fair point, turning off the machine is certainly the best way of
saving energy! I like the idea of having it shut down at night, as I
won't be wanting to use MythWeb then. Ideally I guess it could use a
way of shutting down at night *if* there's no scheduled recording, and
if there is a scheduled recording shutting down after that's happened.
Once I get into building this I'll have a look in the wiki and see how
much of this has already been solved :-)

- I'm somebody who doesn't have AC (not needed in this climate, but I
also use less heating than many), and doesn't leave his (compact
fluorescent) lights on :-) From a financial perspective, though: The
old Shuttle box that I use for Myth used to burn around 100W (straight
Mythbuntu, no attention paid to power saving). 100W 24/7, at current
UK electricity prices, is about £160/year. That seems like a good
reason to reduce it, to me :-)
