[mythtv-users] can recording rules be edited?

Well, there's more to it than just the descriptions. For instance,
probably half of the airings of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report
have generic descriptions, yet myth always knows the correct episodes
to record. Same thing with South Park...episode descriptions never
show up until 2 or 3 days before airing, but myth knows 2 weeks ahead
of time that there is a new episode coming up. That's because, while
the description field itself may be generic, the guide data contains a
unique episode ID for each episode. There's actually a lot of shows
where that happens, at least from time to time, but myth always
figures it out by episode ID. In the 6 years I've been using myth,
I've never once had to resort to using a "find weekly/daily" rule.
