Oh - I forgot to add this in first replay.
Frequency of reconnects in Your case compared to mine suggest me that 
Your environment (OS) is now (compared to my OS after upgrade) much more 
"causing" reconnects as I see noticeable difference in reconnects 
distribution/density in time.
What glibc/kernel are You using ?
Is it acceptable for You to do full OS upgrade and see results ?
