I've got 10 PVR-150s in 4 Debian boxes running 0.23.1, and occasionally one of the BE's will mark a recording as started, but nothing is written to disk, and the BE process has to be restarted in order for the recording to 'end'.

It's almost always a case of the capture device failing to provide any information for MythTV to write to disk--i.e. system/driver/hardware problem.

Mike,

When I look at the logs for a working recording, MythTV first assigns a file handle and goes through a few other internal processes before calling /dev/video, yet I just had another recording fail this morning, and it doesn't do any of these steps--it just stops at "StartingRecording":

2010-10-04 09:28:31.250 TVRec(3): RecordPending on inputid 3
2010-10-04 09:28:31.486 TVRec(3): ASK_RECORDING 3 29 0 0
2010-10-04 09:29:04.294 TVRec(3): StartRecording(A530 A BASIC INCOME TAX)
