With iec958, 5.1 can only work using passthrough ; stereo otherwise

If you do not see ALSA:default in the list, it's because it doesn't
exist on your machine or is an alias.

if you are offered AC3 and DTS and allowed to select 5.1, you are
getting passthrough.

So what's your problem? what make you think you do not have passthrough?
