This is going to take a fair amount of time to run, and eat up a lot of
processor while doing it. On an underpowered system, this will very
likely cause sluggish playback.

That amount of CPU usage seems about right for that processor doing
playback of HD MPEG2, but the Xorg usage is troubling. That sounds like
improperly configured graphics drivers, or maybe you're using OpenGL
through MESA.
