Strangest thing... after removing the meta data the problem persisted. I 
then switched to the mythbuntu theme and it worked like a charm! 
Switched back to arclight - fail again. I wonder whether this could be 
due to arclight being more demanding on resources? I'm using the Qt 
painter btw.
