I once had a Nova-S-Plus card that worked very well for about 4-6 months but then suddenly could not tune the high band transponders.

I have one Windows PC in my house so I moved the card to that one, connected the cable from the dish and installed drivers and the Windows application that came with the card. Scanning only found the low band transponders.
I attached a screenshot of the result of the scanneing when contacting the webshop for a replacement. They quickly accepted this as a hardware fault and replaced the card with a HVR-4000 free of charge.

So I suspect this could also be a hardware problem.
