[mythtv-users] upgrade to 0.23, transition to storage groups and videometadata

I just upgraded to 0.23. Mythweb tells me that it "now requires use of the Videos Storage Group", and we use mythweb exclusively for viewing videos. I haven't been using storage groups for videos yet, and am wondering how to make the transition without losing all the metadata I've put together over the years. A lot of the metadata was the result of manual work that I really don't want to repeat. Unfortunately, the video files are often not named very well, so, unless I'm missing something, using jamu to retrieve information based on file names probably won't work very well for a lot of the files. I would have no problem using sql directly to alter data if that were necessary.

Another thing I'm wondering about is the following: I read that "MythVideo can parse Title, Subtitle, Season, and Episode where that data is relevant". I'm wondering if I have the right database format, since I don't see any fields for any of this except title in videometadata. The fields I have are: intid, title, director, plot, rating, inetref, year, userrating, length, showlevel, filename, coverfile, childid, browse, playcommand, category. Am I missing an update to the database?

I'd be very grateful for any pointers,

George
