You don't have VDPAU working, then. Period. Temporal 2x works with the
8400GS.

You misread the feature list. Both versions of the 8400 offer complete
h.264 acceleration support; thus, HD-PVR recordings would play without
issue . . .

. . . as long as VDPAU is properly enabled. If you don't, the 210
won't help, either.
