[mythtv-users] Can't record in HD (again) (Is it comcast?)

I thought I solved this: but when fiddling with my capture card setup to
get scte65scan worked in, I'm back to this square:
MOST of the time on comcast, digital SD records ok. Sometimes it does not.
MOST of the time, rebroadcast HD (the OTA channels only) comes in choppy. (breaks in video, audio)
It's essentially unrecordable.
Signal strength when viewing in liveTV is > 90% (I wish that was a dBmV number. :P )
The last time I *thought* I fixed it, I'd set the 2 digital cards (pcHDTV-3000, pcHDTV-5500) to
"quick tuning = ALWAYS" as LiveTV always seemed to be ok, recording did not and it was set to
"LiveTV only".
I have each card set for 2 "channels".
my 3rd card is a PVR-350 and seems to work fun.
My load during HD recording or watching is low. I'm using a 3.06GHz P4-HT w/1GB RAM.
(I think the ring buffer for the Digital is default of 14.something MB)
Lastly, scte65scan reports these HD channels as 8VSB. And they have PSIP tables.
Can anyone thing of something I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
-Ben
