I never got anywhere with those howto's either!

I've got a Harmony one working with a HVR-4000 but the IR seems to be the same on the HD-S2, Nova S+ & Nova T 500 that I have so I'd expect there a good chance the TD-500 is the same too.
Once I'd got it working with the Hauppauge remote I added this remote to the harmony and all worked fine, in the Harmony software select Media Centre PC / Hauppauge /hvr-4000 works fine, you have to manually map the keys in the Activity as it comes up completely unmapped by default!?

I'm sure others may have had success but I couldn't get anything to work until I grabbed the hauppage remote and used that as a starting point.

I believe it's the same configuration software for all the different harmony models.
