[mythtv-users] Keyframe index apparently very often wrong

Hi,

when recording shows with mythtv, I observed severe problems in postprocessing:

When cutting commercials and overtime-recordings out of films the result is
broken after transcoding.
If I cut the end of a show, in most cases the transcoded result is too short
(up to 1-2 minutes)
This is apparently due to broken index information
in the recordedmarkup table. When I rebuild the index before setting the
cutmarks the transcoding works pretty well.
Another symptom of the same problem is, that often a jump forward while watching
the show jumps backward.

Is there a way to improve the initial index generation?

The system is Mythbuntu + Mythtv 0.22 with recent updates, the video source
is a analog PVR-500.
