Indeed, one of my sources is also a Virgin cable box. Interestingly the 
.mpg I captured manually rendered in colour. I wonder if of the code in 
Myth changed as a result of dropping support for the Video Output that 
has inadvertantly broken the capture aspect?? I would guess its using 
the IVTV API
