Well, my PS3.  I do get 5.1 from it, the amp displays what kind of signal
it's receiving on the front and lights up a picture of each speaker it has a
signal for.

I use my PS3 for DVD and blu-ray, so no need for another player.

jansenj, my TV is a W-series, not an XBR, but all I needed to do was click
Options, go to Speakers and change it from "TV Speakers" to "Audio System".
