[mythtv-users] Many new dvd's not working

I'd just like to remind people that the internal player still has 
troubles with my MythArchive creations.  Of course this may be a 
region/standards problem.  I've said it before, and provided, long ago, 
some feedback.  Menu selection boxes don't show if still frames are 
displayed, so I don't use that theme; with moving menu frames the menu 
geometry is wrong; and perhaps because I use mp2 sound I have to leave 
the menu showing for about 10 seconds to have some hope of getting sound 
in the main feature.  I don't think all the DVD problems arise from 
greedy moguls and I wish less effort was expended on commercial 
pathological cases and more on creating a reliable archive/playback 
facility...  But now everyone talks of Blu-Ray, multi-terabyte disk 
arrays and h264.   I test everything with vlc before burning.

Maybe the rewrites for 0.24 will change things.  Still a great resource!
