[mythtv-users] Does anyone know how to fix duff install ofAvenard Resposity / NVIDIA 1.95 On Mythbuntu 9.10?

I've easily spent months on installing and tweaking getting MythTV
working right...
Mythbuntu 9.04 - upgraded to 9.10, Avenard packages with nvidia 195.34
(195.22 were faulty),
IceTV epg, slightly modified mythbuntu themes, 2.6.31-18 (as yet
unreleased kernel) custom
wireless drivers (via compat-wireless-2.6) updated lirc drivers (via
lirc backports) and a
bunch of cron tasks,  user jobs etc.

I've performed complete uninstall of all MYTHTV packages, including all
vdpau*
packages, including complete removal of X and the desktop.

Upon rebuilding via 'apt-get install libvdpau1 mythbuntu-desktop', all
settings
in the database pertaining to config, channels, schedules and recordings
was
preserved (and updated).

What have you don't that *wont* survive a simple 'apt-get purge
libmyth*' ?

Having said that, the avenard bit was the easiest.  How on earth could
you get that 
bit wrong?
