It can be smooth, if you match the screen resolution exactly
to the content (I'm assumint SD content), and use the
"Interlaced x2" deinterlacer (which isn't really an deinterlacer;
it just ensures the synchronisation is correct between content
and screen). TV credits are the ideal test for whether it is
correct.
