    Calling power users pirates is really what's uncalled for.

    It's also a little more absurd when it happens in a Linux forum.

    One nice thing about MythTV is that it is built on really very open
components and Unix in general is very good at supporting the sorts of
things that the relevant developers want to shy away from here. If you
are capable of doing for yourself, it's not an unsurmountable problem.
However, not everyone is comfortable with writing stuff to clean all of
their data or to bypass MythVideo's media manager.
