He's probably thinking that many computers have 400-watt PSUs, which does not mean they actually draw that much. Some 
gamer machines being pushed hard can approach 400 watt draws, but machines used for Myth generally do not come close to 
that.

I think a frontend-only machine like a Revo will be in the same class for power consumption as some of the STBs around.

The real question is what the OP means by "STB". I think as he learns more about Myth he will decide to set up Myth 
frontends, with perhaps one or two STBs he already has to use as UPnP clients
