Are you sure the autoexpirer is what deleted things?  Is it possible
that everything got deleted via Mythweb?  Perhaps by a spider?  Is
there any way to get to your machine from the net?  Did you open up
Mythweb (or some other way of talking to your box) so you could talk
to Myth while elsewhere on vacation?

I'd check your various non-Myth logs (webserver and other) and see if
you see any connections.
