Mike,
I've been using CentOS 5 for a couple of years and I've been fairly
pleased. As others have mentioned, though, about 4 years into the
RHEL-based release, things become stale. For example, I do not have
Jamu working on 0.22 because it requires newer Python and I don't want
to install a second Python on my system. I also had to add special
support for my HD-PVR using a kmdl that is not ideal.

I have friends who use Fedora 12 on their backend and I considered
going that route. Upgrading every other Fedora release is not too
problematic, so F12 -> F14, but I think I waited too long for F12.
I'd consider it stable, but since F13 is just around the corner, F12
will be unsupported in less time than if I jumped on F12 when it was
first released.

I've been waiting on RHEL 6 and now that it's in beta, I might wait
until it's GA (probably in around 6 months or so based on the fact
that RHEL 5 went from beta to GA in that timeframe).

/Brian/
