I use a Windows XP VM running in the Sun version of VirtualBox to
support a number of USB gadgets. The OSE version (libre) does not
support USB passthru.

I have even used a Netgear WG111v2 to make a wireless connection that
way. Upgrading HDPVR firmware should work.
