The orange light stays on, on the HD-PVR?   That is a problem.  It
means that the hardware is not initializing itself correctly.

I have seen that happen due to a bad USB cable.  It may also be the
USB port that it is plugged into.

Even with good USB, I have had that happen to me half a dozen times in
the 1.8 years that I have had my HD-PVRs.  Usually, turning the HD-PVR
off, waiting, and turning it back on will get it cleared up.  You
could also try pulling the power plug on the computer itself.
