Re-reading, I see that in nik's original post he mentioned an "error" in 
mythfrontend logs...  What he showed was not an error, but--because that 
was mythfrontend--he should have seen an error next saying, "Couldn't 
upgrade database to new schema, exiting." and then mythfrontend should 
have shut down.

This /still/ goes back to my other reply--WARNING: 0.21-fixes to trunk 
DB upgrade takes a long time.  So, don't mess with it/kill process/...  
Be patient and let the upgrade (being performed by mythbackend) complete.
