Just for the record, /boot *can* be ext4 now in Fedora 12.

As another data point in the 'what fs for a huge array', my own backend 
storage is on a 4x1.5T array formatted xfs. Been pretty reliable, 
outside of a recent in-memory corruption thing that may be attributable 
to running a rawhide debug kernel... Had to do an xfs repair, things are 
back to normal, for now...
