Tom,

I think that 7.10 is no longer supported, so that you will need to follow the instructions here [1] in order to be able to upgrade to 8.04. I successfully did that some time ago.

After that you can upgrade in the "normal" way to the next release up (i.e. 8.04 to 8.10 to 9.04).
