Raymond,

With the highest respect, a timeout when something is slow to the
point of being down/useless I would suggest is a good idea.

For me good design is not how much there is left to add, or more
importantly take away, but rather how elegantly it fails.

:-) Sorry I think I timeout is a good idea.
