[mythtv-users] Multi homed master backend, slaves / frontends on different subnets?

What if the master backend is running on dual-homed or multi-homed
server (has more than one nic card/IP address) with slaves and frontends
able to communicate with the master backend in one hop, but with each
other through only longer or much slower routes involving busy routers
and extra hops?

Does myth use DNS or some other resolver to try various address for the
master backend or is it locked to a single numeric IP for the master
backend used by all slaves and frontends no matter whether better
choices exist?
