Try Optical Disks -> Play DVD
On the other hand, the packager who built the binary may not have
included mythdvd plugin. After all, the DVD player in Leopard works
quite well...

Under Settings -> Appearance, change QT Style to "Windows" (I know,
anathema for a Mac user...)
