On second thought, would this really solve the problem that the
patches I pointed Jim to are supposed to fix (or, at least, mitigate)?
Deinterlacing isn't the issue, per se. Mythfrontend's rapid,
back-and-forth switching between deinterlacing and not (due to
incorrectly-marked frames), when using the default "Detect" Video Scan
setting, is what causes the odd sped-up/slowed-down playback in
certain scenes.
