Larry, I recently pinged Hauppauge about the "upcoming" linux support
and this is the email response I got as of January 14th. It's not
exactly promising.

Linux support for this device is still being worked on. The engineer
working on the support has not given a firm date as to when this will
be available. As things become available he posts them here:
