I suspect that this is regional. Around here it looks as if Comcast
recently removed almost all of the clear QAM. Supposedly they'll give
you a free STB or cable card to get the broadcast channels.
This summer I got a QAM/NTSC card, (Hauppauge HVR-1600) and recently
started playing with the QAM side. Last night I tried scanning
standard, HRC, IRC, and even monkeyed with the standard table to add
higher frequencies. (Every 6MHz up, and the card won't tune 861MHz or
higher.)
All I get is QVC. Well, at least I confirmed that the capture works.
Is this a policy change that may hit my area soon, or an implementation
change in your area?
