Mmmm on http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Vdpau#Supported_Cards I note there is a report of VDPAU working in a Quadro NVS 140M which is 
also not on the list at the top of the page.....  It seems the list is incomplete....
The question what is the minimum hardware for VDPAU seems to remain appropriate to ask.



"No, that is the list of hardware supported by the driver.  the VDPAU
capable list was contained in the original announcement for VDPAU and
can be summarized as "any 8xxx series besides the original 8800 GTX
and 8100, and all 9xxx series."
