You can also convert your PVR-150 IR receiver into a serial IR
receiver with little difficulty. Just cut out the wires and resolder
the IR diode leads to a serial connector. You will need to add a
couple of other components to the serial connector as outlined here:
http://lirc.org/receivers.html
Once done you need to change your LIRC kernel module to lirc-serial.
