If you have the message ID, just add a References and/or In-Reply-To
header to your message with that value.
(Of course, that fixes it for people using MUA's that do threading
properly, but Gossamer tends to thread based on a combination of
identical subjects and time-proximity, so in the archives, yours may
have threaded properly. I don't know how a certain very popular web
mail provider does it, but I think I remember mention that it's not
using the standards-based approach--meaning your message may thread
properly for people using that provider's service, too.)

there are related articles for other MUA's-but, unfortunately, you'll
have to look up how to do it on Apple Mail).
