The first technician said had never installed a cable card and did not
seem to know what he was doing. He arrived with a broken one ended up
spending over 1 hour at my house calling tech support several times
only to find out the card did not work and for some unknown reason he
did not have a second card in his truck and could not get one that day
so we had to call to schedule a second install weeks later. The second
technician actually had installed one before but he still had problems
and had to call for tech support several times before it worked. Maybe
they were really trying to wear me down so they could give me a second
STB instead of the CableCard. Both technicians were definitely trying
to sell the STB. And one of the biggest selling points was ondemand.
The only problem is I have ondemand on the bedroom tv and I consider
it over 90% useless crap at the starter digital package that I have.
Actually they had some programming on that back when I ordered the
CableCard but now they are locking it down more of my access and thus
reducing its usefulness.
