[mythtv-users] Adding manual schedule directly to database

I'm trying to add a manual schedule directly to the mythtv database.  Does anyone know exactly what needs to get added, and what needs to get done to make mythtv actually recognize the new recording?

For the record, I'm trying to set up a way to text message recordings to my mythtv box, so if a way to do this already exists, I'd love to hear about that too.
