??? All available Nvidia cards support 1920x1080, certainly. It has
not been possible to buy any brand-new ones that don't for many years.

Aren't you contradicting yourself? If many 6200s did not support
1920x1080 the product line as a whole would never have been the de
facto recommended choice because that would mean they couldn't handle
1080i. But they can, so they were.
