[mythtv-users] Location of recording thumbnails (png's)

Perhaps this is the wrong thread to post this question, but how long
should generating thumbnails take?  On my system, when I I go to watch
recordings, the newly recorded programs that do not yet have
thumbnails takes a while when I scroll through them for the thumbnails
to be generated and appear (matter of like 5-10 seconds).  This
started happening about a year ago, and honestly, I have no idea what
was changed to cause that.  It does not matter if the
thumbnails/recordings are on the frontend or a drive that is on the
network and mounted.  Is this normal?  If not, where can I
troubleshoot this issue?
