You are correct, I do have an IP address in there, as required by the
interface (which asks for IP address and not hostname).
But it's true that at this point, it does look like my slave backend isn't
being registered with the master backend for some reason. It looks like I
just need to debug that portion now.
It does say that it's connecting:
2008-09-23 09:46:18.579 mythbackend version: 0.21.20080304-1 www.mythtv.org
2008-09-23 09:46:18.591 Enabled verbose msgs: important general
2008-09-23 09:46:19.613 Connecting to master server: :6543
2008-09-23 09:46:19.644 Connected successfully
but then it looks like something fails:
2008-09-23 09:46:49.662 MythSocket(b3304e40:11): readStringList: Error, timeout.
2008-09-23 09:46:49.712 adding: gargamel.svh.merlins.org as a slave backend server
2008-09-23 09:46:49.750 MythSocket(b330a948:-1): writeStringList: Error, socket went unconnected.
and I found something better. It says:
2008-09-23 09:46:19.613 Connecting to master server: :6543
when it used to say:
2008-09-16 10:01:11.332 Connecting to backend server: 192.168.205.11:6543 (try 1 of 5)
2008-09-16 10:01:11.363 Using protocol version 40
(192.168.205.11 was the old IP of my mythtv server)
So, at this point it looks like there is just a small bug in my DB on
backend vs master server, or something that causes my slave backend to be
confused about it.
Here are my current values:
MasterServerIP 192.168.205.61 myth
ZoneMinderServerIP 192.168.205.61 myth
BackendServerIP 192.168.205.61 myth
BackendServerIP 192.168.205.3 gargamel.svh.merlins.org
BackendServerIP 192.168.205.62 myth-lvr
Any idea what could be wrong?
