I personally began seeing the system lock-up and also some of the
pci-cards getting bus resets.  After doing some Google searches, I saw
reports it might be an under-powered power supply.  I found some
online calculators, and discovered I was probably 60W under what was
needed.  I upgraded the power supply, and my system has been
rock-solid ever since.
