I just went through the trouble of converting all my mythtv filesystem
from ext3 to xfs.  The journaling on ext3 was nice, but it really made
the system slow.  If I tried more than two different activities I would
get the prebuffering pauses and related I/O problems.  After xfs, no
problems at all.
