I have TiVo¹s also, and if your series 2 has TiVoToGo available, you can use
pyTivo to serve streams back to the TiVo.

This is what I use. You can set up transcoding jobs to strip the commercials
and then place the MPEG streams in MPEG-2 PS format into a pyTivo share and
then access them from the TiVo.
