What kind of range can you get with the Dinovo?
What other keyboards do all you other people have that reach all the
way down a normal sized rectangular shaped living room?

I have a Logitech Wireless Wave keyboard and absolutely love the thing
- but the max distance is completely atrocious, making it unusable for
my Myth install. Much further than one meter, and it starts failing.
I brought it to work to see if it was the environment at home, and
there I can get about two meters, but still nothing approaching the
length of a rectanglar room (~5 meters). I even tried soldering a
802.11 external antenna to the USB dongle, to no avail.

My slight preference would be for Wireless USB device, but not a
strict requirement. I'm also not willing to spend many hundreds of
dollars (I'm much too practical - I'll just walk to the front of the
room and use the keyboard hidden in the corner for the few times it is
needed).

For the OP, a few of us are using the newish Gyration Media Center
Edition RF remotes with built-in in-the-air-mouse. It has great
range (two rooms) that easily puts the Wave keyboard to shame - which
makes me interested in their keyboard as well - opinions, anyone? The
GYR3101 is reported to be supported by the 2.6.27 kernel (about to be
released, and soon to be available via Red Hat and Ubuntu). The
GYR4101 key support will hopefully be in the next kernel. I'm hoping
to reverse engineer the LCD sometime sooner than later, but no time
table on that.

   Marc
