You wont be able to share the receiver side which plugs into the USB.
USB devices can only be active on one host at a time.

If you are using LIRC which I assume you are since you are posting to
the mythtv mailing list, you can do two things.

1. You can run lircd on your second machine, and just tell it to
connect to the first machines lircd instance.  e.g.

lircd --connect=192.168.0.1:8765

2.  Create a cheap home brew receiver so that you have two separate
instances of lircd running.  If you need more information on this, let
me know.


Either way, if you are using the same remote for both boxes, option 1
will give you some problems if both machines are on (and using lirc),
because it will be sending the button presses to both instances.

Option 2 would be a better option because you could program any remote
controller to work with it, and the MCE remote wont interfere
