Greetings,
I'm running mythtv 0.21-0.13 in Debian/unstable.
I have 2.6.18 kernel and no .asoundrc and onboard SI7012 soundcard.
I'm trying to get 5.1 out of the analog outputs.
I used ALSA:surround51 as device in xine and it works great.
Under mythtv with device as ALSA:surroun51 and mixer as ALSA:default, I
get logs like this:

And no sound. Seems it is looking for a device called Master for every
channel. (notice 0 and 1) are not mentioned, thus I believe left and
right channels are okay, but the other 4 channels are messed up. Should
there be a Master for each channel? Maybe this is an aliased thing that
binds all the channels to move relative to Master???
None of the other ALSA:????? options worked.
I tried setting device to /dev/dsp and mixer to /dev/mixer to use OSS
emulation. 5.1 works like this, but volume control (though set as Master
in mythtv setup) only conrols the PCM (left and right).
I was wondering if anyone knew if I was doing something wrong? Any help
is appreciated.
