[mythtv-users] mythbackend zombie?

I updated to 0.21 today, and trying to watch live tv causes a ton of the 
following messages:

it eventually seems to stop trying whatever it's doing, and then this follows:

Idle

and then some auto expire stuff kicks in, shortly there after mythbackend 
freezes, and is unkillable (ps shows <defunct>).

What can I do to fix this? I'm going to start missing my tv shows :(
