[mythtv-users] "minimal-click"-installation of MythTV on Ubuntu 8.04?

Hello everybody,
I want to install MythTV with as few "mouse clicking" as possible. I
have already installed it maybe three or four times following some
guides in the Wiki and in the end, it always worked. Good, I'm not an
absolute dummy :-) However, this is starting to be annoying and I want
to make it as fast as possible.

At the moment, I would consider myself an "ambitious Linux newbie". I'm
really interested in switching to Linux or at least a dual boot system
and I try to get that to work every couple of months *g*. Because I use
my PC for so so many things (being a software developer and "power user"
(yes, really...), this is quite a task... I have installed Ubuntu 6.10,
7.04 and 7.10. Every time, "most things worked" in the end but some
critical thing didn't.
I am now in the process of "scripting" my entire installation and I'm
doing rather well (i.e. I'm making my own shell script that will install
everything I need rather than using Synaptic) installing things like
java, mysql, browser settings, sshd, svn, openvpn, tomcat, apache,
amarok :-), samba, ...

Now I want to install MythTV and the only installation instructions I
can find are entirely "point and click". Wow, that's incredible :-)
Can anybody help me do as much as possible from a command line?
- How do I install MythTV from the command line?
- How do I configure it from the command line? As an intermediate
solution, it would be ok if I could "dump" my settings to a file and use
that to automatically configure my next installation. I use two capture
cards with two different video sources and ~ 30 channels each, so
settings the channels (and the xmltv-ids) was a real pain. Last time I
had to do it, I wrote a Java program that does it for me. It works quite
nicely!
I'm really not a "computer newbie", I'm just a "Linux newbie". I know
SQL and I know how to execute (My)SQL-commands from the shell. I also
know how to use Subversion. Just for Linux-specific things (creating
users and/or groups, setting permissions), I would appreciate some
detail :-))
Thank you very much in advance for any help and - of course - for
MythTV! :-)
Cheers,
Holger
P.S.: This is for creating a combined frontend and backend on an
existing Ubuntu Hardy Heron latest beta (last week) and I do not
currently want the MythBuntu theme... Getting it from the (Ubuntu) repos
is fine, but installing 0.21-fixes from SVN might be even better...(?)
Seems like I will be affected by at least one bug in 0.21...
