[mythtv-users] VLC Skipping with MythStreams/Recordings

I've tried this with both asx streams from mythweb, e.g.

  vlc http://localhost:80/mythweb/pl/stream/1009/1205141100.asx

and the MPEG's on disk, e.g

  vlc /home/mythtv/default/1009_20080310192500.mpg


And VLC skips - really badly, like a play a few seconds, skip a minute, play 
another few seconds.

the streams/files play fine in xine and mplayer.

Also vlc can play other video files just fine. Its just mythtv recordings it 
has problems with. The myth files are SD DVB recordings.

Has anyone else observed this?
